The Government of Canada released this report in August 2018. It looks at what the government is doing for Canadians experiencing poverty. It looks at areas such as dignity, opportunity and inclusion, as well as enhancing resilience and security. Poverty is given a gender-based analysis +. The report outlines the government poverty reduction initiatives as of 2018. The goals in the strategy are: by 2020, reducing the poverty rate by 20% from its 2015 level; and by 2030, reducing the poverty rate by 50% from its 2015 level.
